Blogiversary!
The Peace Tree Farm blog opened for business exactly three years ago today.
In that time, I have posted 259 entries, demonstrating for all to see that I’m really not a steady blogger. Further evidence in support of that observation comes from my SiteMeter, which shows that I am ever-so-slowly creeping toward 20,000 total visits and recently slipped past 35,000 page views. To put that “accomplishment” in proper context, in the last hour DailyKos exceeded my three-year count of visits and nearly reached my total page views. And today was a low-traffic day on dKos.
On my Opening Day of January 2, 2003, I introduced my blog in this way:
I can’t say what shape this enterprise will eventually take. There are daily events worthy of comment and discussion, in a myriad of arenas, but the one or ones that inspire me to bat out a few words can’t be predicted. It might be a political decision or it might be a baseball game; a piece of music or a magazine article; scientific research or a well-cooked meal.
Though my concerns have largely turned toward political activism in the interim, all of those topics (and others) have been addressed here at one time or another. And they’ll all continue to be on my mind as I enter the fourth year of this blog’s existence.
Onward into the next year...

Hey, N...Happy blogaversary!
Keep it up...it is always a pleasure to read your musings.
ibid. Quality, not quantity. Thanks for keeping the blogfires burning.
Happy anniversary! Seems like January was a good month to start blogging.
Oh frabjous day! Congrats on three (I hit two in October, but forgot to mention it on the blog). However the posts come, fast or slow, they’re always a pleasure to see.
Congrats, man.
I thought I’d write a lot more about baseball too. Funny how that doesn’t quite work out the way you expect.
Happy blogaversary to peacetreefarm! Keep up the occasional posts of high quality!
(I’ve missed almost all of your 1st three years as I only recently visited Peace Tree Farm via the PNW Hot List.)
Statistics can be amazing things. They can tell a person a lot or not much of anything. From what I’ve read on your blog thus far, I don’t think you write (and you express yourself very well!) to garner visits or page views but to express your insights.
In the end, the numbers don’t matter. If you only inspired one person, then the Peace Tree Farm would be a glowing success. How many people can genuinely say they inspire others toward deeper thought and contemplation?
Happy three years to you! One of these weeks I’ll make it back over to D.L. and I’ll buy you a beer to celebrate.
Ahem. Necrologies, please. ;)
Happy anniversary.
