Heh, indeedy

I often joked with “Carl Ballard” that many of his posts constituted little more than a title like the above, plus a link.  Then, just like that, he up and decided to end Washington State Political Report.

I don’t think Carl was truely anonymous.  He signed a couple of his posted letters with his real name. 

In any case the WSPR will be missed.

You’re right, darryl.  He never pointed it out—no “hey, the blogger called Carl Ballard wrote letters to politicians using his real name Xxxxxxx Xxxxxxxxx”—but yes, he did reveal his name to those who were paying attention.

That differs from my approach, which is that I’ve never revealed my real name here on PTF.  In fact, on the few occasions where someone called me by my actual name in coments, I’ve edited the comments o remove the true reference.

However, it doesn’t take a genius to figure it out from the information I’ve produced here.  And I’m using my real name on one other Washington State blog, because I was inadvertently “outed” there.

For what it’s worth.

I’m totally sad that he is ending it.  I loved lurking there, and he provided encouragment (I think it was him!) when I was (pathetically) attempting to blog myself.
