One year later
The 2004 election took place 365 days ago. Somehow, George Walker Bush and his puppetmasters convinced 51% of the electorate to vote against America’s essential values, against opportunities for the little guy, against aiding those in need of a helping hand ... and for imperialism, for cronyism, for pollution. Moreover, they tried to bamboozle us into believing their narrow margin was a “mandate”, that they could continue their campaign to drag our nation’s reputation, heritage, and economy into the world’s gutter with impunity.
A great deal has changed in the last 365 days. Bush’s poll numbers sink ever deeper into the toilet. Scooter Libby has been flushed, and Karl Rove is about to demonstrate the prophetic nature of Turdblossom, the nickname bestowed upon him by his good friend Dubya. The malAdministration’s handling of the recent natural disasters has been nearly as catastrophic as the hurricanes themselves. The Miers nomination was beyond incompetent.
We seem to be watching a collective nervous breakdown by Dubya, Frist, DeLay, and the whole sick crew. What’s dangerous in this is that these sociopaths will have nary a qualm about pulling down everything else with them as their fetid nightmare-world collapses. Not so much a Seven Days in May coup as a bully’s twisted tantrum.
One year since Dubya won a second term.
One year until the mid-term House and Senate elections.
Three years until the next presidential election.
