Saddam Hussein, R.I.P
It takes a man as utterly reprehensible, as utterly without comprehension of international affairs, as utterly wrong about just about everything under the sun, as George Walker Bush ...
to make a martyr out of Saddam Hussein.
I grieve in advance for all the young American soldiers who will continue to die because of Bush. I grieve even more for the innocent Iraqis who will die (and the hundreds of thousands whose lives have already been snuffed out by Dubya) in the impending paroxysms in their land.
Read Riverbend’s latest posting at Baghdad Burning to have your heart ripped out once again at the craziness of what George W. Bush has inflicted upon Iraq and the entire world. May Dubya some day get all he deserves for these atrocities. The blood is on his hands.
Comments
The execution does solve a major problem for Bush, Rumsfeld, and their friends, though.
Why Jubial??
Why try and execute Saddam over a misdemeanor, the “execution” of 148 men in a village where an assassination attempt was made?
And why execute him in the middle of one of his major trials, the gassing of the Kurds?
Well, Jubial was the ONLY crime against humanity that Saddam commited WITHOUT AMERICAN COMPLICITY.
Why in the middle of the trial for gassing the Kurds? Well, certainly before Saddam got to put on his defense. Reagan supplied him with the gas; Rumsfeld approved his use of the gas.
