Silence

Please excuse the prolonged silence hereabouts.

I’m simply overwhelmed with a million things, big and little, at the moment.  Multiple deadlines and responsibilities at work… Tasks for the local Democratic party (who knew it would take so long to data-enter hundreds of scrawled names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and such?)...  Important events that I really should attend… Other events that I must go to… Personal interests (some longterm, some newly-embarked-upon) that demand my attention and excite my spirit.

That on top of the situational depression engendered by the collapse of Howard Dean‘s presidential campaign.

Will it eventually ease up enough for me to get my head above water?  I’m sure it will—it must!—but at present I can’t quite see when.  Until I can catch my breath, blogging here will remain infrequent and sporadic.  I do intend to finish a partially-written reflection on the Washington caucus experience, but with every passing day that piece loses more of whatever relevance it may once have had.  After that (eventually) sees the light of day, I can’t predict what will happen next hereabouts.

To Linkmeister, I can say that you should definitely go to your caucus next Tuesday to participate in retail, hometown political discourse.  It may not mean very much in the big picture of national, or even state, politics.  But there is real power in looking your neighbors in the eye and sharing with them your thoughts on the future of our land.

Oh, it gets worse.  I got a call last night, and I’m now a district coordinator. ;) I have a database of 20 names to work with, many of whom are no doubt wondering what to do as of this morning’s announcement.

Well… I just find a new blog to read; and someone on the west coast - and they “decide” to take a break.

I’ve liked what I’ve read, so I think I’ll take the opportunity to read some more. Good luck getting your head back above water!

Thanks for the kind words, Charles.  I will continue to write ... the only question is when.
